Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Real Estate, Capital Goods and Banking sectors led shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 rose 1.19% to hit a new 3-months high, while the BSE Sensex 30 index added 1.30%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Bharti Airtel Ltd. (NS:BRTI), which rose 5.00% or 16.70 points to trade at 351.80 at the close. Meanwhile, IndusInd Bank Ltd. (NS:INBK) added 3.24% or 49.10 points to end at 1569.05 and ICICI Bank Ltd (NS:ICBK) was up 3.42% or 12.85 points to 388.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Eicher Motors Ltd. (NS:EICH), which fell 2.62% or 602.55 points to trade at 22461.95 at the close. Bajaj Finance Ltd (NS:BJFN) declined 1.36% or 38.05 points to end at 2753.05 and Bharti Infratel Ltd (NS:BHRI) was down 1.16% or 3.70 points to 316.35.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Bharti Airtel Ltd (BO:BRTI) which rose 5.12% to 350.80, IndusInd Bank Ltd. (BO:INBK) which was up 3.69% to settle at 1571.00 and ICICI Bank Ltd (BO:ICBK) which gained 3.27% to close at 388.20.
The worst performers were Bajaj Finance Ltd (BO:BJFN) which was down 1.30% to 2753.75 in late trade, Infosys Ltd (BO:INFY) which lost 0.67% to settle at 706.90 and NTPC Ltd (BO:NTPC) which was down 0.59% to 151.10 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1017 to 548 and 98 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1498 rose and 980 declined, while 272 ended unchanged.

The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was up 1.36% to 15.0975.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.40% or 5.15 to $1296.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 1.00% or 0.57 to hit $57.36 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 1.04% or 0.69 to trade at $67.27 a barrel.
USD/INR was down 0.00% to 69.720, while EUR/INR rose 0.07% to 78.6060.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16% at 97.023.
