Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Banking, Carbon and Real Estate sectors led shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 added 1.18% to hit a new 6-months high, while the BSE Sensex 30 index added 1.34%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Reliance Industries Ltd (NS:RELI), which rose 3.58% or 70.00 points to trade at 2025.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Bajaj Finserv Ltd (NS:BJFS) added 3.48% or 210.85 points to end at 6266.00 and IndusInd Bank Ltd. (NS:INBK) was up 3.09% or 22.10 points to 736.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (NS:MRTI), which fell 2.72% or 192.80 points to trade at 6900.00 at the close. GAIL Ltd (NS:GAIL) declined 1.89% or 1.65 points to end at 85.80 and Bharti Airtel Ltd. (NS:BRTI) was down 1.54% or 7.05 points to 450.25.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Reliance Industries Ltd (BO:RELI) which rose 3.78% to 2029.00, Bajaj Finserv Ltd (BO:BJFS) which was up 3.54% to settle at 6270.00 and IndusInd Bank Ltd. (BO:INBK) which gained 3.43% to close at 738.70.
The worst performers were Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (BO:MRTI) which was down 2.73% to 6900.00 in late trade, Bharti Airtel Ltd (BO:BRTI) which lost 1.67% to settle at 449.75 and Asian Paints Ltd. (BO:ASPN) which was down 1.49% to 2205.00 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 938 to 639 and 121 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1446 rose and 1095 declined, while 184 ended unchanged.
The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 2.23% to 20.4975.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.25% or 4.80 to $1951.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 3.02% or 1.17 to hit $37.62 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 2.57% or 1.05 to trade at $39.88 a barrel.
USD/INR was up 0.33% to 74.153, while EUR/INR rose 0.65% to 87.9795.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.17% at 92.358.
