Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Real Estate, Auto and Green Energy sectors led shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 added 1.03%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index added 1.04%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Eicher Motors Ltd. (NS:EICH), which rose 5.68% or 260.10 points to trade at 4,837.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (NS:MAHM) added 3.02% or 81.05 points to end at 2,764.00 and Shriram Finance Ltd. (NS:SHMF) was up 2.88% or 82.80 points to 2,955.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bharat Petroleum Corp. Ltd. (NS:BPCL), which fell 1.48% or 5.00 points to trade at 333.30 at the close. HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd (NS:HDFL) declined 1.09% or 7.75 points to end at 702.60 and Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (NS:KTKM) was down 0.16% or 2.75 points to 1,770.00.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (BO:MAHM) which rose 3.08% to 2,765.00, Tata Motors Ltd (BO:TAMO) which was up 2.85% to settle at 1,071.05 and Tech Mahindra Ltd (BO:TEML) which gained 2.68% to close at 1,505.70.
The worst performers were Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (BO:KTKM) which was down 0.13% to 1,770.50 in late trade, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (BO:MRTI) which lost 0.05% to settle at 12,208.00 and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (BO:SUN) which was down 0.01% to 1,736.00 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1480 to 936 and 48 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 2210 rose and 1528 declined, while 99 ended unchanged.
The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 7.45% to 15.36.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.03% or 0.85 to $2,464.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.22% or 0.17 to hit $76.36 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.15% or 0.12 to trade at $79.28 a barrel.
USD/INR was down 0.07% to 83.95, while EUR/INR fell 0.05% to 91.66.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.00% at 103.03.
