Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Auto, Power and Metals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 rose 0.91%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index gained 0.92%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Eicher Motors Ltd. (NS:EICH), which rose 2.82% or 444.80 points to trade at 16407.25 at the close. Meanwhile, Tech Mahindra Ltd (NS:TEML) added 3.85% or 26.80 points to end at 721.75 and Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (NS:MRTI) was up 3.87% or 231.25 points to 6186.95 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Indiabulls Housing Finance Ltd (NS:INBF), which fell 4.57% or 20.45 points to trade at 425.70 at the close. Yes Bank Ltd (NS:YESB) declined 1.94% or 1.20 points to end at 60.40 and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (NS:SUN) was down 1.57% or 6.80 points to 425.10.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Tech Mahindra Ltd (BO:TEML) which rose 3.77% to 721.55, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (BO:MRTI) which was up 3.61% to settle at 6185.85 and AXIS Bank Ltd. (BO:AXBK) which gained 3.35% to close at 671.00.
The worst performers were Yes Bank Ltd (BO:YESB) which was down 2.42% to 60.40 in late trade, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (BO:SUN) which lost 1.63% to settle at 424.90 and HCL Technologies Ltd (BO:HCLT) which was down 0.86% to 1101.50 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1067 to 499 and 70 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1521 rose and 878 declined, while 141 ended unchanged.
Shares in Indiabulls Housing Finance Ltd (NS:INBF) fell to 3-years lows; losing 4.57% or 20.45 to 425.70.
The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 5.78% to 16.2750.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.61% or 9.35 to $1516.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 1.44% or 0.81 to hit $55.49 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 1.41% or 0.86 to trade at $60.09 a barrel.
USD/INR was down 0.34% to 71.665, while EUR/INR fell 0.40% to 79.0285.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 98.455.
