Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Capital Goods, Public Sector Undertakings and Power sectors led shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 rose 0.84% to hit a new 3-months high, while the BSE Sensex 30 index climbed 0.76%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Adani Enterprises Ltd (NS:ADEL), which rose 3.88% or 71.90 points to trade at 1,924.95 at the close. Meanwhile, Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd (NS:APSE) added 3.27% or 21.55 points to end at 681.30 and Nestle India Ltd (NS:NEST) was up 2.85% or 602.70 points to 21,750.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Axis Bank Ltd (NS:AXBK), which fell 2.43% or 21.40 points to trade at 860.00 at the close. Titan Company Ltd (NS:TITN) declined 0.81% or 21.60 points to end at 2,641.85 and HCL Technologies Ltd (NS:HCLT) was down 0.77% or 8.25 points to 1,063.00.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Wipro Ltd (BO:WIPR) which rose 2.89% to 385.15, Nestle India Ltd (BO:NEST) which was up 2.77% to settle at 21,736.25 and State Bank Of India (BO:SBI) which gained 2.32% to close at 578.05.
The worst performers were Axis Bank Ltd. (BO:AXBK) which was down 2.39% to 860.00 in late trade, HCL Technologies Ltd (BO:HCLT) which lost 0.75% to settle at 1,063.00 and Titan Company Ltd (BO:TITN) which was down 0.70% to 2,641.05 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1275 to 627 and 75 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 2134 rose and 1242 declined, while 129 ended unchanged.
Shares in Nestle India Ltd (NS:NEST) rose to all time highs; rising 2.85% or 602.70 to 21,750.00. Shares in Nestle India Ltd (BO:NEST) rose to all time highs; gaining 2.77% or 585.95 to 21,736.25.
The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 4.18% to 10.95 a new 3-years low.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.31% or 6.25 to $1,992.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.29% or 0.22 to hit $74.98 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.43% or 0.34 to trade at $78.56 a barrel.
USD/INR was up 0.04% to 81.77, while EUR/INR fell 0.21% to 89.89.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.46% at 101.72.
