Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Technology, Green Energy and Carbon sectors led shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 added 0.77% to hit a new all time high, while the BSE Sensex 30 index gained 0.78%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (NS:TCS), which rose 6.53% or 256.30 points to trade at 4,180.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Wipro Ltd (NS:WIPR) added 4.57% or 24.40 points to end at 558.50 and Infosys Ltd (NS:INFY) was up 3.41% or 56.40 points to 1,709.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (NS:MRTI), which fell 1.17% or 148.20 points to trade at 12,567.00 at the close. Divi's Laboratories Ltd. (NS:DIVI) declined 0.93% or 42.50 points to end at 4,540.00 and Asian Paints Ltd. (NS:ASPN) was down 0.90% or 27.10 points to 2,994.95.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (BO:TCS) which rose 6.61% to 4,182.00, Wipro Ltd (BO:WIPR) which was up 4.49% to settle at 558.35 and Infosys Ltd (BO:INFY) which gained 3.41% to close at 1,709.50.
The worst performers were Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (BO:MRTI) which was down 1.00% to 12,585.75 in late trade, Asian Paints Ltd. (BO:ASPN) which lost 0.99% to settle at 2,993.35 and Titan Company Ltd (BO:TITN) which was down 0.81% to 3,223.00 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1418 to 833 and 29 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 2180 fell and 1601 advanced, while 101 ended unchanged.
Shares in Wipro Ltd (NS:WIPR) rose to 52-week highs; up 4.57% or 24.40 to 558.50. Shares in Wipro Ltd (BO:WIPR) rose to 52-week highs; rising 4.49% or 24.00 to 558.35.
The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 1.93% to 13.73.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.65% or 15.85 to $2,406.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.03% or 0.85 to hit $83.47 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.76% or 0.65 to trade at $86.05 a barrel.
USD/INR was up 0.02% to 83.53, while EUR/INR rose 0.21% to 90.94.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.09% at 104.04.
