Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Real Estate, Oil & Gas and Consumer Durables sectors led shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 rose 0.77%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index added 0.55%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Bajaj Finance Ltd (NS:BJFN), which rose 11.97% or 249.35 points to trade at 2311.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Bharti Airtel Ltd. (NS:BRTI) added 8.97% or 25.65 points to end at 315.85 and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (NS:HPCL) was up 6.08% or 13.25 points to 232.75 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Yes Bank Ltd (NS:YESB), which fell 4.15% or 8.85 points to trade at 204.00 at the close. Bajaj Auto Ltd (NS:BAJA) declined 4.54% or 117.50 points to end at 2475.15 and Grasim Industries Ltd (NS:GRAS) was down 2.12% or 17.55 points to 809.00.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Bharti Airtel Ltd (BO:BRTI) which rose 10.79% to 316.75, Asian Paints Ltd. (BO:ASPN) which was up 4.49% to settle at 1189.95 and IndusInd Bank Ltd. (BO:INBK) which gained 3.21% to close at 1520.75.
The worst performers were Yes Bank Ltd (BO:YESB) which was down 4.52% to 204.00 in late trade, Bajaj Auto Ltd (BO:BAJA) which lost 4.30% to settle at 2475.30 and Adani Port and Special Economic Zone Ltd (BO:APSE) which was down 1.40% to 313.80 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 873 to 718 and 58 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1312 rose and 1160 declined, while 138 ended unchanged.
Shares in Bajaj Auto Ltd (NS:BAJA) fell to 52-week lows; down 4.54% or 117.50 to 2475.15. Shares in Grasim Industries Ltd (NS:GRAS) fell to 52-week lows; down 2.12% or 17.55 to 809.00. Shares in Bajaj Auto Ltd (BO:BAJA) fell to 52-week lows; down 4.30% or 111.10 to 2475.30.
The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 0.83% to 18.8800.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.02% or 0.20 to $1233.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.06% or 0.04 to hit $66.47 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.52% or 0.40 to trade at $76.04 a barrel.
USD/INR was down 0.11% to 73.155, while EUR/INR fell 0.98% to 83.5495.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.43% at 96.12.
