Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the IT, Technology and Metals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 gained 0.76%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index climbed 0.71%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (NS:TCS), which rose 7.55% or 190.50 points to trade at 2713.95 at the close. Meanwhile, Wipro Ltd (NS:WIPR) added 7.01% or 21.95 points to end at 335.00 and Tata Steel Ltd (NS:TISC) was up 4.93% or 18.00 points to 382.95 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bajaj Finserv Ltd (NS:BJFS), which fell 2.79% or 168.60 points to trade at 5885.00 at the close. Shree Cements Ltd. (NS:SHCM) declined 2.75% or 566.00 points to end at 20045.00 and Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. (NS:ZEE) was down 2.52% or 5.40 points to 208.60.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (BO:TCS) which rose 7.54% to 2713.00, Tata Steel Ltd (BO:TISC) which was up 4.88% to settle at 382.75 and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (BO:SUN) which gained 3.39% to close at 524.00.
The worst performers were Bajaj Finserv Ltd (BO:BJFS) which was down 2.70% to 5889.50 in late trade, Bharti Airtel Ltd (BO:BRTI) which lost 1.89% to settle at 424.20 and Bajaj Finance Ltd (BO:BJFN) which was down 1.87% to 3379.75 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 892 to 712 and 104 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1431 rose and 1193 declined, while 173 ended unchanged.
Shares in Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (NS:TCS) rose to all time highs; gaining 7.55% or 190.50 to 2713.95. Shares in Wipro Ltd (NS:WIPR) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 7.01% or 21.95 to 335.00. Shares in Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (BO:TCS) rose to 5-year highs; up 7.54% or 190.25 to 2713.00.
The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was up 7.38% to 19.7050.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.19% or 3.55 to $1904.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 4.24% or 1.57 to hit $38.62 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 3.67% or 1.44 to trade at $40.71 a barrel.
USD/INR was down 0.03% to 73.266, while EUR/INR rose 0.26% to 86.0880.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.21% at 93.715.
