Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Auto, Consumer Durables and Banking sectors led shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 gained 0.70%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index added 0.68%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Indiabulls Housing Finance Ltd (NS:INBF), which rose 14.77% or 65.65 points to trade at 505.25 at the close. Meanwhile, Eicher Motors Ltd. (NS:EICH) added 4.69% or 788.35 points to end at 17587.25 and Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (NS:MRTI) was up 3.35% or 198.00 points to 6099.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Yes Bank Ltd (NS:YESB), which fell 7.85% or 7.00 points to trade at 82.15 at the close. Cipla Ltd. (NS:CIPL) declined 3.57% or 17.95 points to end at 484.50 and Hindalco Industries Ltd. (NS:HALC) was down 2.24% or 4.05 points to 176.20.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (BO:MRTI) which rose 3.36% to 6101.20, Bajaj Finance Ltd (BO:BJFN) which was up 2.46% to settle at 3418.05 and Vedanta Ltd (BO:VDAN) which gained 2.17% to close at 141.55.
The worst performers were Yes Bank Ltd (BO:YESB) which was down 7.91% to 82.10 in late trade, Tech Mahindra Ltd (BO:TEML) which lost 2.50% to settle at 663.65 and Tata Motors Ltd (BO:TAMO) which was down 1.53% to 122.05 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1031 to 533 and 67 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1471 rose and 921 declined, while 154 ended unchanged.
Shares in Cipla Ltd. (NS:CIPL) fell to 3-years lows; losing 3.57% or 17.95 to 484.50.
The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 1.54% to 15.8450.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.39% or 5.85 to $1515.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.26% or 0.66 to hit $53.20 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.38% or 0.79 to trade at $58.17 a barrel.
USD/INR was up 0.45% to 70.724, while EUR/INR rose 0.72% to 79.2675.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 97.312.
