Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Capital Goods, Consumer Durables and Auto sectors led shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 rose 0.67% to hit a new all time high, while the BSE Sensex 30 index climbed 0.47%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Bharti Infratel Ltd (NS:BHRI), which rose 4.04% or 15.10 points to trade at 389.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Bajaj Auto Ltd (NS:BAJA) added 3.70% or 111.80 points to end at 3137.40 and Indiabulls Housing Finance Ltd (NS:INBF) was up 2.78% or 35.15 points to 1301.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd (NS:ONGC), which fell 0.90% or 1.50 points to trade at 165.25 at the close. Tata Steel Ltd (NS:TISC) declined 0.89% or 6.05 points to end at 672.90 and ITC Ltd (NS:ITC) was down 0.85% or 2.30 points to 267.00.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Bajaj Auto Ltd (BO:BAJA) which rose 3.57% to 3129.80, Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (BO:HLL) which was up 2.77% to settle at 1280.00 and Larsen & Toubro Ltd (BO:LART) which gained 2.09% to close at 1237.80.
The worst performers were ITC Ltd (BO:ITC) which was down 0.95% to 266.80 in late trade, Tata Steel Ltd (BO:TISC) which lost 0.92% to settle at 673.05 and Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd (BO:ONGC) which was down 0.90% to 165.40 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 943 to 629 and 15 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1495 rose and 1062 declined, while 152 ended unchanged.

The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 2.01% to 11.4425 a new 1-month low.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.47% or 6.22 to $1318.98 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.32% or 0.16 to hit $50.28 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.25% or 0.14 to trade at $55.48 a barrel.
USD/INR was down 0.01% to 64.145, while EUR/INR rose 0.03% to 76.6205.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 91.68.
