Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Real Estate, Auto and Metals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 gained 0.57%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index climbed 0.51%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd (NS:REDY), which rose 9.46% or 191.10 points to trade at 2212.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Aurobindo Pharma Ltd. (NS:ARBN) added 4.60% or 33.35 points to end at 758.60 and Asian Paints Ltd. (NS:ASPN) was up 4.05% or 47.35 points to 1215.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grasim Industries Ltd (NS:GRAS), which fell 2.05% or 24.45 points to trade at 1170.75 at the close. Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (NS:TCS) declined 1.60% or 39.90 points to end at 2456.45 and Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (NS:IOC) was down 1.47% or 6.70 points to 448.30.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd (BO:REDY) which rose 9.75% to 2217.35, Asian Paints Ltd. (BO:ASPN) which was up 3.97% to settle at 1214.55 and Bajaj Auto Ltd (BO:BAJA) which gained 3.92% to close at 2918.65.
The worst performers were Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (BO:TCS) which was down 1.34% to 2463.20 in late trade, Bharti Airtel Ltd (BO:BRTI) which lost 1.26% to settle at 422.45 and Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (BO:PGRD) which was down 1.17% to 215.80 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 993 to 552 and 18 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1553 rose and 963 declined, while 135 ended unchanged.
Shares in Asian Paints Ltd. (BO:ASPN) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 3.97% or 46.40 to 1214.55.
The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 2.32% to 11.6750.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.10% or 1.27 to $1323.47 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 1.12% or 0.53 to hit $46.70 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.72% or 0.38 to trade at $52.48 a barrel.
USD/INR was up 0.10% to 64.025, while EUR/INR rose 0.21% to 76.2994.
The US Dollar Index Futures was unchanged 0.00% at 92.59.
