Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Consumer Durables, Capital Goods and Real Estate sectors led shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 rose 0.50%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index climbed 0.42%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Indiabulls Housing Finance Ltd (NS:INBF), which rose 5.41% or 39.70 points to trade at 775.70 at the close. Meanwhile, Lupin Ltd (NS:LUPN) added 3.75% or 30.85 points to end at 847.30 and Bajaj Finserv Ltd (NS:BJFS) was up 3.18% or 190.45 points to 6159.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Yes Bank Ltd (NS:YESB), which fell 6.32% or 11.80 points to trade at 174.70 at the close. Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (NS:SUN) declined 2.19% or 9.45 points to end at 422.10 and UPL Ltd (NS:UPLL) was down 2.16% or 17.05 points to 773.45.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Wipro Ltd (BO:WIPR) which rose 2.64% to 338.75, Infosys Ltd (BO:INFY) which was up 2.62% to settle at 696.50 and Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (BO:KTKM) which gained 2.56% to close at 1268.00.
The worst performers were Yes Bank Ltd (BO:YESB) which was down 6.48% to 174.70 in late trade, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (BO:SUN) which lost 2.12% to settle at 422.15 and Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (BO:TCS) which was down 1.74% to 1983.65 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 964 to 607 and 68 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1428 rose and 1041 declined, while 125 ended unchanged.
Shares in Wipro Ltd (BO:WIPR) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 2.64% or 8.70 to 338.75.
The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 1.64% to 15.5500 a new 1-month low.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.16% or 2.05 to $1247.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.43% or 0.22 to hit $50.93 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.43% or 0.26 to trade at $59.89 a barrel.
USD/INR was down 0.31% to 71.635, while EUR/INR fell 0.24% to 81.4825.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03% at 96.993.
