Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Metals, Real Estate and Auto sectors led shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 rose 0.45%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index gained 0.24%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Eicher Motors Ltd. (NS:EICH), which rose 5.55% or 1366.75 points to trade at 26010.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Hindalco Industries Ltd. (NS:HALC) added 4.93% or 7.40 points to end at 157.45 and Idea Cellular Ltd (NS:IDEA) was up 3.90% or 3.10 points to 82.65 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Reliance Industries Ltd (NS:RELI), which fell 1.94% or 21.50 points to trade at 1089.00 at the close. Tech Mahindra Limited (NS:TEML) declined 1.60% or 7.15 points to end at 440.70 and Coal India Limited (NS:COAL) was down 1.28% or 4.25 points to 328.50.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Vedanta Ltd (BO:VDAN) which rose 4.96% to 174.65, Hindalco Industries Ltd. (BO:HALC) which was up 4.21% to settle at 156.10 and TATA STEEL LIMITED (BO:TISC) which gained 3.25% to close at 379.80.
The worst performers were Reliance Industries Ltd (BO:RELI) which was down 1.87% to 1089.70 in late trade, Coal India Limited (BO:COAL) which lost 0.99% to settle at 328.70 and Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (BO:HLL) which was down 0.97% to 887.20 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 975 to 506 and 65 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1614 rose and 991 declined, while 215 ended unchanged.
Shares in Eicher Motors Ltd. (NS:EICH) rose to all time highs; gaining 5.55% or 1366.75 to 26010.00.
The India Vix, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 2.82% to 13.8475.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.11% or 1.45 to $1328.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.85% or 0.38 to hit $45.05 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.12% or 0.52 to trade at $47.04 a barrel.
USD/INR was up 0.03% to 66.468, while EUR/INR rose 0.04% to 74.5300.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.14% at 95.48.
