Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Auto, Metals and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 rose 0.45%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index gained 0.38%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Hero MotoCorp Ltd (NS:HROM), which rose 5.50% or 174.15 points to trade at 3329.35 at the close. Meanwhile, Bajaj Auto Ltd (NS:BAJA) added 5.13% or 142.90 points to end at 2923.55 and Bharti Airtel Ltd. (NS:BRTI) was up 4.57% or 17.00 points to 389.60 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Yes Bank Ltd (NS:YESB), which fell 4.58% or 15.55 points to trade at 323.40 at the close. Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (NS:SUN) declined 1.86% or 12.60 points to end at 664.25 and Adani Port and Special Economic Zone Ltd (NS:APSE) was down 2.08% or 8.00 points to 377.45.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Hero MotoCorp Ltd (BO:HROM) which rose 5.27% to 3327.45, Bajaj Auto Ltd (BO:BAJA) which was up 5.06% to settle at 2924.00 and Bharti Airtel Ltd (BO:BRTI) which gained 4.98% to close at 390.80.
The worst performers were Yes Bank Ltd (BO:YESB) which was down 4.59% to 323.45 in late trade, Adani Port and Special Economic Zone Ltd (BO:APSE) which lost 1.89% to settle at 377.10 and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (BO:SUN) which was down 1.84% to 664.20 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 936 to 670 and 69 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1487 rose and 1126 declined, while 175 ended unchanged.
The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was up 1.22% to 13.8900 a new 1-month high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.20% or 2.40 to $1206.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.03% or 0.02 to hit $67.75 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.08% or 0.06 to trade at $76.44 a barrel.
USD/INR was down 0.38% to 71.675, while EUR/INR fell 0.26% to 83.4050.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 94.87.
