Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Real Estate, Capital Goods and IT sectors led shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 gained 0.44% to hit a new 1-month high, while the BSE Sensex 30 index climbed 0.55%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Yes Bank Ltd (NS:YESB), which rose 3.45% or 12.05 points to trade at 362.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (NS:HLL) added 1.90% or 28.05 points to end at 1508.90 and Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (NS:TCS) was up 2.23% or 77.05 points to 3532.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were AXIS Bank Ltd (NS:AXBK), which fell 3.84% or 20.70 points to trade at 517.30 at the close. Reliance Industries Ltd (NS:RELI) declined 3.29% or 32.80 points to end at 963.30 and UPL Ltd (NS:UPLL) was down 2.96% or 22.35 points to 729.85.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Yes Bank Ltd (BO:YESB) which rose 3.90% to 362.05, Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (BO:HLL) which was up 2.34% to settle at 1509.05 and Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (BO:TCS) which gained 2.22% to close at 3531.40.
The worst performers were AXIS Bank Ltd. (BO:AXBK) which was down 3.87% to 518.05 in late trade, Reliance Industries Ltd (BO:RELI) which lost 3.18% to settle at 963.10 and ICICI Bank Ltd (BO:ICBK) which was down 1.25% to 284.45 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 866 to 739 and 47 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1365 rose and 1224 declined, while 131 ended unchanged.
Shares in Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (NS:HLL) rose to all time highs; rising 1.90% or 28.05 to 1508.90. Shares in Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (BO:HLL) rose to all time highs; up 2.34% or 34.50 to 1509.05.
The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was up 2.87% to 12.3625.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.47% or 6.20 to $1317.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 1.12% or 0.76 to hit $67.34 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 1.10% or 0.81 to trade at $72.98 a barrel.
USD/INR was down 0.20% to 66.490, while EUR/INR fell 0.48% to 80.4193.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.30% at 91.58.
