Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Auto, Real Estate and Green Energy sectors led shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 rose 0.40% to hit a new 52-week high, while the BSE Sensex 30 index added 0.38%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone (NS:APSE), which rose 3.67% or 9.50 points to trade at 268.20 at the close. Meanwhile, Bank Of Baroda (NS:BOB) added 3.16% or 5.10 points to end at 166.35 and Bharti Airtel Ltd. (NS:BRTI) was up 2.59% or 8.05 points to 318.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Coal India Limited (NS:COAL), which fell 1.69% or 5.70 points to trade at 332.30 at the close. Reliance Industries Ltd (NS:RELI) declined 1.54% or 15.85 points to end at 1013.35 and ACC Ltd (NS:ACC) was down 1.07% or 18.00 points to 1669.55.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Bharti Airtel Ltd (BO:BRTI) which rose 2.66% to 318.95, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (BO:MRTI) which was up 1.98% to settle at 5158.50 and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (BO:SUN) which gained 1.50% to close at 782.10.
The worst performers were Coal India Limited (BO:COAL) which was down 1.64% to 332.50 in late trade, Reliance Industries Ltd (BO:RELI) which lost 1.58% to settle at 1012.85 and Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (BO:HLL) which was down 0.73% to 919.85 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 817 to 644 and 65 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 913 rose and 710 declined, while 55 ended unchanged.
Shares in Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (BO:MRTI) rose to all time highs; gaining 1.98% or 100.25 to 5158.50.
The India Vix, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 3.00% to 12.9400 a new 52-week low.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.20% or 2.60 to $1314.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.14% or 0.49 to hit $43.65 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.25% or 0.57 to trade at $46.02 a barrel.
USD/INR was up 0.07% to 66.850, while EUR/INR fell 0.08% to 74.7430.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.18% at 95.83.
