Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Real Estate, Consumer Durables and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 gained 0.34%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index added 0.42%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Tata Motors Ltd (NS:TAMO), which rose 2.78% or 26.05 points to trade at 963.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (NS:TCS) added 2.54% or 101.70 points to end at 4,102.75 and Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (NS:PGRD) was up 1.81% or 5.20 points to 293.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Hero MotoCorp Ltd (NS:HROM), which fell 1.69% or 76.00 points to trade at 4,420.10 at the close. Bajaj Finance Ltd (NS:BJFN) declined 1.33% or 88.25 points to end at 6,555.00 and State Bank Of India (NS:SBI) was down 1.26% or 9.55 points to 749.35.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (BO:TCS) which rose 2.56% to 4,102.80, IndusInd Bank Ltd. (BO:INBK) which was up 1.78% to settle at 1,492.90 and Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (BO:PGRD) which gained 1.65% to close at 292.50.
The worst performers were Bajaj Finance Ltd (BO:BJFN) which was down 1.29% to 6,555.15 in late trade, State Bank Of India (BO:SBI) which lost 1.23% to settle at 749.70 and Bajaj Finserv Ltd (BO:BJFS) which was down 0.77% to 1,601.25 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1408 to 751 and 32 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 2221 fell and 1477 advanced, while 92 ended unchanged.

The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was up 0.82% to 15.73.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.30% or 6.15 to $2,045.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.06% or 0.05 to hit $77.53 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.13% or 0.11 to trade at $81.56 a barrel.
USD/INR was up 0.02% to 82.89, while EUR/INR fell 0.09% to 89.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 103.71.
