Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Real Estate, Consumer Durables and Capital Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 rose 0.33% to hit a new all time high, while the BSE Sensex 30 index climbed 0.30%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Tech Mahindra Ltd (NS:TEML), which rose 3.75% or 24.55 points to trade at 680.75 at the close. Meanwhile, Reliance Industries Ltd (NS:RELI) added 2.84% or 32.75 points to end at 1186.00 and Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd (NS:REDY) was up 3.04% or 62.80 points to 2127.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were AXIS Bank Ltd (NS:AXBK), which fell 3.77% or 21.45 points to trade at 550.40 at the close. Indiabulls Housing Finance Ltd (NS:INBF) declined 3.34% or 44.80 points to end at 1297.05 and Eicher Motors Ltd. (NS:EICH) was down 2.79% or 796.65 points to 27798.55.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Reliance Industries Ltd (BO:RELI) which rose 3.14% to 1185.85, Hero MotoCorp Ltd (BO:HROM) which was up 2.77% to settle at 3293.80 and Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (BO:HLL) which gained 2.52% to close at 1731.60.
The worst performers were AXIS Bank Ltd. (BO:AXBK) which was down 3.23% to 550.10 in late trade, Tata Motors Ltd DVR (BO:TAMdv) which lost 2.04% to settle at 144.20 and Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd (BO:HDFC) which was down 1.64% to 1994.75 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 902 to 694 and 50 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1442 rose and 1123 declined, while 141 ended unchanged.

The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 0.83% to 12.4800.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.34% or 4.20 to $1217.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.61% or 0.43 to hit $69.70 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.36% or 0.27 to trade at $75.28 a barrel.
USD/INR was down 0.17% to 68.576, while EUR/INR rose 0.22% to 80.4810.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 94.06.
