Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Real Estate, Auto and Metals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 added 0.30%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index added 0.34%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Yes Bank Ltd (NS:YESB), which rose 13.00% or 8.20 points to trade at 71.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Tata Motors Ltd (NS:TAMO) added 10.66% or 13.00 points to end at 134.35 and Eicher Motors Ltd. (NS:EICH) was up 5.10% or 827.25 points to 17013.65 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Wipro Ltd (NS:WIPR), which fell 2.91% or 7.45 points to trade at 248.15 at the close. Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd (NS:ONGC) declined 3.13% or 4.05 points to end at 125.75 and GAIL Ltd (NS:GAIL) was down 2.80% or 3.70 points to 128.45.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Yes Bank Ltd (BO:YESB) which rose 13.47% to 71.60, Tata Motors Ltd DVR (BO:TAMdv) which was up 10.59% to settle at 61.60 and Tata Motors Ltd (BO:TAMO) which gained 10.21% to close at 134.35.
The worst performers were Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd (BO:ONGC) which was down 2.93% to 125.70 in late trade, HCL Technologies Ltd (BO:HCLT) which lost 2.48% to settle at 1057.25 and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (BO:SUN) which was down 1.57% to 422.05 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1212 to 371 and 64 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1775 rose and 729 declined, while 148 ended unchanged.
The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 3.03% to 15.3725 a new 1-month low.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.05% or 0.75 to $1499.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.92% or 0.53 to hit $57.93 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.71% or 0.44 to trade at $62.82 a barrel.
USD/INR was down 0.21% to 71.722, while EUR/INR fell 0.43% to 79.0240.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 98.500.
