Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Durables, Auto and Real Estate sectors led shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 rose 0.28%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index climbed 0.34%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (NS:MAHM), which rose 5.87% or 139.25 points to trade at 2,511.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Grasim Industries Ltd (NS:GRAS) added 2.42% or 57.40 points to end at 2,430.00 and UltraTech Cement Ltd (NS:ULTC) was up 1.92% or 186.15 points to 9,895.25 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cipla Ltd. (NS:CIPL), which fell 1.63% or 23.10 points to trade at 1,398.00 at the close. Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (NS:TCS) declined 1.56% or 61.00 points to end at 3,839.95 and SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd (NS:SBIL) was down 1.26% or 18.30 points to 1,433.90.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (BO:MAHM) which rose 5.78% to 2,510.00, UltraTech Cement Ltd (BO:ULTC) which was up 1.85% to settle at 9,887.00 and JSW Steel Ltd (BO:JSTL) which gained 1.77% to close at 902.00.
The worst performers were Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (BO:TCS) which was down 1.55% to 3,840.00 in late trade, HCL Technologies Ltd (BO:HCLT) which lost 1.22% to settle at 1,331.50 and Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (BO:HLL) which was down 0.89% to 2,321.90 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1417 to 783 and 45 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 2291 rose and 1379 declined, while 120 ended unchanged.

The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 0.99% to 19.80.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.06% or 1.35 to $2,386.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.15% or 0.12 to hit $79.35 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.18% or 0.15 to trade at $83.42 a barrel.
USD/INR was down 0.15% to 83.35, while EUR/INR fell 0.38% to 90.37.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 104.65.
