Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Metals, Real Estate and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 rose 0.23%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index added 0.20%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Eicher Motors Ltd. (NS:EICH), which rose 7.41% or 174.25 points to trade at 2525.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Bajaj Finserv Ltd (NS:BJFS) added 3.88% or 272.80 points to end at 7299.00 and Coal India Ltd (NS:COAL) was up 3.07% or 3.75 points to 125.85 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tata Motors Ltd (NS:TAMO), which fell 3.31% or 5.00 points to trade at 146.20 at the close. Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. (NS:ZEE) declined 3.02% or 6.00 points to end at 192.45 and Larsen & Toubro Ltd (NS:LART) was down 1.98% or 21.20 points to 1052.00.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Bajaj Finserv Ltd (BO:BJFS) which rose 3.84% to 7294.00, Tata Steel Ltd (BO:TISC) which was up 2.82% to settle at 486.50 and ICICI Bank Ltd (BO:ICBK) which gained 2.03% to close at 485.95.
The worst performers were Larsen & Toubro Ltd (BO:LART) which was down 1.95% to 1052.35 in late trade, HDFC Bank Ltd (BO:HDBK) which lost 1.05% to settle at 1357.50 and Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd (BO:HDFC) which was down 1.02% to 2306.95 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 955 to 623 and 112 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1533 rose and 1044 declined, while 186 ended unchanged.
Shares in Eicher Motors Ltd. (NS:EICH) rose to 52-week highs; up 7.41% or 174.25 to 2525.00.
The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 4.45% to 19.7025 a new 1-month low.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.30% or 5.70 to $1879.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.78% or 0.32 to hit $40.80 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.51% or 0.22 to trade at $43.31 a barrel.
USD/INR was down 0.18% to 74.544, while EUR/INR fell 0.02% to 88.1375.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16% at 92.808.
