Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Auto, Metals and Real Estate sectors led shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 rose 0.19%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index climbed 0.10%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd (NS:REDY), which rose 5.87% or 111.15 points to trade at 2009.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Bajaj Finserv Ltd (NS:BJFS) added 4.84% or 276.95 points to end at 5971.80 and Tata Motors Ltd (NS:TAMO) was up 4.09% or 12.10 points to 307.70 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (NS:IOC), which fell 3.54% or 5.85 points to trade at 160.50 at the close. UltraTech Cement Ltd (NS:ULTC) declined 2.63% or 101.20 points to end at 3755.55 and Bharti Infratel Ltd (NS:BHRI) was down 1.76% or 5.65 points to 315.85.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd (BO:REDY) which rose 6.30% to 2013.75, Bajaj Auto Ltd (BO:BAJA) which was up 3.86% to settle at 2825.00 and Tata Motors Ltd (BO:TAMO) which gained 3.78% to close at 307.75.
The worst performers were Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (BO:TCS) which was down 1.40% to 3508.05 in late trade, Asian Paints Ltd. (BO:ASPN) which lost 1.27% to settle at 1283.50 and AXIS Bank Ltd. (BO:AXBK) which was down 1.27% to 522.00 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 916 to 679 and 43 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1405 rose and 1143 declined, while 134 ended unchanged.
Shares in Bajaj Finserv Ltd (NS:BJFS) rose to all time highs; up 4.84% or 276.95 to 5971.80. Shares in UltraTech Cement Ltd (NS:ULTC) fell to 52-week lows; losing 2.63% or 101.20 to 3755.55.
The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 5.60% to 13.6025.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.21% or 2.70 to $1293.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.25% or 0.18 to hit $72.53 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.47% or 0.37 to trade at $79.59 a barrel.
USD/INR was down 0.06% to 68.075, while EUR/INR rose 0.12% to 80.4072.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16% at 93.31.
