Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the IT, Technology and Consumer Durables sectors led shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 gained 0.14% to hit a new all time high, while the BSE Sensex 30 index added 0.15%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd (NS:REDY), which rose 3.35% or 170.15 points to trade at 5243.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Bajaj Auto Ltd (NS:BAJA) added 2.50% or 81.75 points to end at 3352.20 and Infosys Ltd (NS:INFY) was up 2.31% or 26.80 points to 1186.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were IndusInd Bank Ltd. (NS:INBK), which fell 3.10% or 29.05 points to trade at 906.75 at the close. HDFC Bank Ltd (NS:HDBK) declined 2.28% or 32.85 points to end at 1408.95 and Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd (NS:ONGC) was down 1.97% or 2.00 points to 99.50.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Infosys Ltd (BO:INFY) which rose 2.64% to 1189.75, Bajaj Auto Ltd (BO:BAJA) which was up 2.43% to settle at 3350.00 and State Bank Of India (BO:SBI) which gained 1.42% to close at 271.40.
The worst performers were IndusInd Bank Ltd. (BO:INBK) which was down 3.30% to 905.05 in late trade, HDFC Bank Ltd (BO:HDBK) which lost 2.21% to settle at 1409.60 and Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd (BO:ONGC) which was down 2.07% to 99.40 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1090 to 568 and 64 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1652 fell and 1204 advanced, while 156 ended unchanged.

Shares in Infosys Ltd (BO:INFY) rose to 3-years highs; up 2.64% or 30.65 to 1189.75. Shares in Bajaj Auto Ltd (BO:BAJA) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 2.43% or 79.45 to 3350.00.
The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 2.79% to 18.6225.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.33% or 6.25 to $1884.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.29% or 0.14 to hit $48.22 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.45% or 0.23 to trade at $51.27 a barrel.
USD/INR was up 0.02% to 73.537, while EUR/INR fell 0.05% to 90.1340.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 89.877.
