Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Power, Auto and Metals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 rose 0.12%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index gained 0.04%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Asian Paints Ltd. (NS:ASPN), which rose 4.65% or 80.25 points to trade at 1807.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Bajaj Finance Ltd (NS:BJFN) added 3.74% or 125.10 points to end at 3470.30 and UPL Ltd (NS:UPLL) was up 3.49% or 16.20 points to 480.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Titan Company Ltd (NS:TITN), which fell 2.50% or 28.00 points to trade at 1092.15 at the close. HCL Technologies Ltd (NS:HCLT) declined 2.13% or 15.00 points to end at 689.90 and Infosys Ltd (NS:INFY) was down 1.98% or 19.20 points to 951.65.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Asian Paints Ltd. (BO:ASPN) which rose 4.45% to 1805.15, Bajaj Finance Ltd (BO:BJFN) which was up 3.61% to settle at 3466.00 and IndusInd Bank Ltd. (BO:INBK) which gained 2.90% to close at 509.10.
The worst performers were Titan Company Ltd (BO:TITN) which was down 2.54% to 1091.90 in late trade, HCL Technologies Ltd (BO:HCLT) which lost 2.11% to settle at 690.35 and Infosys Ltd (BO:INFY) which was down 1.85% to 951.25 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1017 to 571 and 86 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1574 rose and 975 declined, while 125 ended unchanged.
The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 2.47% to 22.5775 a new 3-months low.
Gold Futures for October delivery was down 0.13% or 2.70 to $2055.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.95% or 0.40 to hit $41.55 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.80% or 0.36 to trade at $44.73 a barrel.
USD/INR was up 0.11% to 74.969, while EUR/INR fell 0.35% to 88.6210.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.42% at 93.162.
