Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Real Estate, Auto and Consumer Durables sectors led shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 rose 0.08% to hit a new 6-months high, while the BSE Sensex 30 index added 0.10%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were IndusInd Bank Ltd. (NS:INBK), which rose 6.53% or 37.05 points to trade at 604.70 at the close. Meanwhile, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (NS:MAHM) added 4.18% or 25.65 points to end at 639.00 and Tata Motors Ltd (NS:TAMO) was up 4.13% or 5.70 points to 143.60 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Reliance Industries Ltd (NS:RELI), which fell 1.37% or 29.20 points to trade at 2108.10 at the close. Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd (NS:ONGC) declined 1.29% or 1.05 points to end at 80.35 and Bajaj Auto Ltd (NS:BAJA) was down 1.27% or 39.10 points to 3043.10.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were IndusInd Bank Ltd. (BO:INBK) which rose 6.59% to 605.55, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (BO:MAHM) which was up 4.01% to settle at 637.80 and State Bank Of India (BO:SBI) which gained 2.98% to close at 216.10.
The worst performers were Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd (BO:ONGC) which was down 1.29% to 80.35 in late trade, Bajaj Auto Ltd (BO:BAJA) which lost 1.23% to settle at 3045.00 and Reliance Industries Ltd (BO:RELI) which was down 1.18% to 2111.70 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 804 to 789 and 91 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1345 fell and 1337 advanced, while 159 ended unchanged.
Shares in Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (NS:MAHM) rose to 52-week highs; up 4.18% or 25.65 to 639.00. Shares in Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (BO:MAHM) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 4.01% or 24.60 to 637.80.
The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 2.11% to 18.8950 a new 6-months low.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.27% or 5.30 to $1947.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.39% or 0.17 to hit $43.22 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.15% or 0.07 to trade at $46.09 a barrel.
USD/INR was down 0.46% to 73.876, while EUR/INR fell 0.65% to 87.2225.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 93.047.
