Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Technology, IT and Real Estate sectors led shares higher.

At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 rose 0.06%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index climbed 0.12%.

The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. (NS:ZEE), which rose 2.20% or 9.65 points to trade at 448.20 at the close. Meanwhile, Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (NS:TCS) added 2.07% or 39.15 points to end at 1932.70 and Yes Bank Ltd (NS:YESB) was up 2.19% or 4.60 points to 214.45 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Vedanta Ltd (NS:VDAN), which fell 6.61% or 14.70 points to trade at 207.40 at the close. Cipla Ltd. (NS:CIPL) declined 5.88% or 33.10 points to end at 530.80 and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (NS:HPCL) was down 2.94% or 6.85 points to 226.30.

The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (BO:TCS) which rose 2.22% to 1931.95, Tata Motors Ltd DVR (BO:TAMdv) which was up 2.11% to settle at 104.15 and Yes Bank Ltd (BO:YESB) which gained 1.95% to close at 214.45.

The worst performers were Vedanta Ltd (BO:VDAN) which was down 6.70% to 207.60 in late trade, State Bank Of India (BO:SBI) which lost 2.98% to settle at 286.50 and AXIS Bank Ltd. (BO:AXBK) which was down 2.67% to 607.60 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 792 to 791 and 63 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1244 fell and 1233 advanced, while 151 ended unchanged.

The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 5.02% to 18.5050.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.62% or 7.60 to $1237.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.41% or 0.26 to hit $62.84 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.49% or 0.36 to trade at $72.81 a barrel.

USD/INR was up 0.21% to 73.015, while EUR/INR fell 0.12% to 83.2685.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 96.21.
