Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Healthcare, IT and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 gained 0.05%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index gained 0.09%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Aurobindo Pharma Ltd. (NS:ARBN), which rose 4.79% or 33.50 points to trade at 732.15 at the close. Meanwhile, Lupin Ltd (NS:LUPN) added 3.83% or 36.65 points to end at 992.50 and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (NS:SUN) was up 2.94% or 13.80 points to 483.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were HCL Technologies Ltd (NS:HCLT), which fell 1.57% or 13.80 points to trade at 867.50 at the close. Adani Port and Special Economic Zone Ltd (NS:APSE) declined 1.29% or 4.95 points to end at 380.05 and ACC Ltd (NS:ACC) was down 1.38% or 24.85 points to 1781.50.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Lupin Ltd (BO:LUPN) which rose 3.87% to 991.75, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (BO:SUN) which was up 3.10% to settle at 483.30 and Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd (BO:REDY) which gained 2.88% to close at 2087.90.
The worst performers were Adani Port and Special Economic Zone Ltd (BO:APSE) which was down 1.32% to 379.95 in late trade, Bajaj Auto Ltd (BO:BAJA) which lost 1.04% to settle at 2731.85 and Reliance Industries Ltd (BO:RELI) which was down 0.88% to 1567.40 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 873 to 675 and 13 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1385 rose and 1095 declined, while 139 ended unchanged.
The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 4.63% to 12.5725.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.20% or 2.61 to $1292.09 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.56% or 0.27 to hit $48.14 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.36% or 0.19 to trade at $52.38 a barrel.
USD/INR was up 0.03% to 64.035, while EUR/INR fell 0.12% to 75.5322.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.10% at 93.23.
