Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms, Industrials and Insurance sectors led shares higher while losses in the Retail, Construction and Food & Beverages sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 1.39%, while the MDAX index climbed 0.85%, and the TecDAX index lost 0.16%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:MTXGn), which rose 5.58% or 9.07 points to trade at 171.47 at the close. Meanwhile, Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn) added 4.28% or 0.460 points to end at 11.200 and Airbus Group SE (DE:AIRG) was up 4.22% or 4.16 points to 102.70 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p), which fell 3.60% or 20.600 points to trade at 551.800 at the close. HelloFresh SE (DE:HFGG) declined 2.70% or 2.26 points to end at 81.46 and Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER) was down 2.59% or 2.65 points to 99.80.
The top performers on the MDAX were Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:LHAG) which rose 7.05% to 6.088, Fraport AG (DE:FRAG) which was up 4.51% to settle at 57.690 and Prosiebensat 1 Media AG (DE:PSMGn) which gained 3.94% to close at 13.8650.
The worst performers were K&S AG (DE:SDFGn) which was down 4.27% to 15.078 in late trade, Aixtron SE (DE:AIXGn) which lost 3.77% to settle at 16.765 and TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which was down 2.77% to 11.23 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Suse SA (DE:SUSEG) which rose 3.26% to 38.00, Deutsche Telekom AG Na (DE:DTEGn) which was up 2.58% to settle at 15.858 and SAP SE (DE:SAPG) which gained 2.10% to close at 116.160.
The worst performers were Aixtron SE (DE:AIXGn) which was down 3.77% to 16.765 in late trade, Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) which lost 3.60% to settle at 551.800 and TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which was down 2.77% to 11.23 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 458 to 259 and 57 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 3.42% to 27.13.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.26% or 4.65 to $1779.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 3.97% or 2.63 to hit $68.89 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 3.66% or 2.56 to trade at $72.44 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.32% to 1.1277, while EUR/GBP fell 0.47% to 0.8508.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.24% at 96.347.
