Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Construction, Insurance and Telecoms sectors led shares higher while losses in the Technology, Retail and Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 1.33% to hit a new 1-month high, while the MDAX index lost 1.16%, and the TecDAX index lost 2.04%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Daimler AG NA O.N. (DE:DAIGn), which rose 9.13% or 2.980 points to trade at 35.625 at the close. Meanwhile, Covestro AG (DE:1COV) added 6.20% or 2.040 points to end at 34.920 and Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (DE:BMWG) was up 5.61% or 2.895 points to 54.485 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn), which fell 5.11% or 1.035 points to trade at 19.200 at the close. Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (DE:FMEG) declined 2.70% or 2.020 points to end at 72.740 and Merck KGaA (DE:MRCG) was down 2.43% or 2.52 points to 101.08.
The top performers on the MDAX were Deutsche Pfandbriefbank AG (DE:PBBG) which rose 8.56% to 6.72, CTS Eventim AG (DE:EVDG) which was up 6.01% to settle at 40.940 and Grenke N AG (DE:GLJn) which gained 5.97% to close at 70.95.
The worst performers were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) which was down 9.61% to 301.000 in late trade, Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER) which lost 6.31% to settle at 82.00 and TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which was down 6.18% to 42.42 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which rose 11.14% to 8.430, Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG) which was up 3.54% to settle at 89.005 and Jenoptik AG (DE:JENGn) which gained 2.79% to close at 22.080.
The worst performers were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) which was down 9.61% to 301.000 in late trade, TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which lost 6.18% to settle at 42.42 and Varta AG (DE:VAR1) which was down 5.91% to 90.800 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 395 to 297 and 50 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 3.87% to 31.95.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.15% or 2.55 to $1708.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 3.20% or 1.10 to hit $33.25 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 2.85% or 1.03 to trade at $35.14 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.03% to 1.0983, while EUR/GBP rose 0.75% to 0.8968.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.21% at 99.118.
