Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Monday, as gains in the Basic Resources, Construction and Chemicals sectors led shares higher while losses in the Financial Services, Retail and Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 1.18%, while the MDAX index added 0.19%, and the TecDAX index declined 0.48%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG), which rose 154.49% or 1.979 points to trade at 3.260 at the close. Meanwhile, Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn) added 3.65% or 0.297 points to end at 8.430 and Daimler AG NA O.N. (DE:DAIGn) was up 3.43% or 1.195 points to 36.085 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:RWEG), which fell 2.03% or 0.640 points to trade at 30.825 at the close. Beiersdorf AG O.N. (DE:BEIG) declined 0.84% or 0.850 points to end at 100.800 and Vonovia SE (DE:VNAn) was down 0.55% or 0.30 points to 53.86.
The top performers on the MDAX were Varta AG (DE:VAR1) which rose 7.14% to 96.800, Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:CBKG) which was up 5.65% to settle at 3.967 and Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (DE:TKAG) which gained 4.41% to close at 6.160.
The worst performers were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) which was down 4.23% to 285.400 in late trade, Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:NEKG) which lost 3.82% to settle at 59.150 and TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which was down 3.74% to 45.86 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG) which rose 154.49% to 3.260, Varta AG (DE:VAR1) which was up 7.14% to settle at 96.800 and CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (DE:COP1n) which gained 4.29% to close at 66.850.
The worst performers were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) which was down 4.23% to 285.400 in late trade, Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:NEKG) which lost 3.82% to settle at 59.150 and TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which was down 3.74% to 45.86 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 420 to 261 and 59 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 1.49% to 36.96.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.08% or 1.50 to $1781.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 2.83% or 1.09 to hit $39.58 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 2.08% or 0.85 to trade at $41.78 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.10% to 1.1228, while EUR/GBP rose 0.44% to 0.9139.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 97.550.
