Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Industrials, Transportation & Logistics and Insurance sectors led shares higher while losses in the Retail, Financial Services and Consumer & Cyclical sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.92%, while the MDAX index climbed 0.33%, and the TecDAX index declined 0.25%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:MTXGn), which rose 4.73% or 9.25 points to trade at 204.70 at the close. Meanwhile, Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (DE:HEIG) added 3.83% or 2.500 points to end at 67.770 and Bayer AG NA (DE:BAYGN) was up 3.17% or 1.69 points to 55.04 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER), which fell 3.38% or 3.80 points to trade at 108.70 at the close. Deutsche Wohnen AG (DE:DWNG) declined 1.33% or 0.530 points to end at 39.260 and E.ON SE (DE:EONGn) was down 1.06% or 0.092 points to 8.558.
The top performers on the MDAX were Aareal Bank AG (DE:ARLG) which rose 13.13% to 21.620, Fraport AG (DE:FRAG) which was up 6.21% to settle at 53.975 and Software AG (DE:SOWGn) which gained 3.95% to close at 38.130.
The worst performers were Scout24 AG (DE:G24n) which was down 3.21% to 63.300 in late trade, Zalando SE (DE:ZALG) which lost 2.77% to settle at 87.00 and Puma SE (DE:PUMG) which was down 2.48% to 84.92 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were S&T AG (DE:SANT1) which rose 5.35% to 22.44, Software AG (DE:SOWGn) which was up 3.95% to settle at 38.130 and Bechtle AG (DE:BC8G) which gained 2.01% to close at 157.100.
The worst performers were Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (DE:O2Dn) which was down 2.39% to 2.288 in late trade, Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) which lost 2.15% to settle at 428.400 and Qiagen NV (DE:QIA) which was down 1.85% to 42.635 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 456 to 215 and 26 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 7.08% to 22.57.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.68% or 12.35 to $1793.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 2.68% or 1.65 to hit $63.32 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 2.84% or 1.83 to trade at $66.31 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.17% to 1.2128, while EUR/GBP fell 0.09% to 0.8600.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 90.305.
