Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Consumer & Cyclical and Chemicals sectors led shares higher while losses in the Technology, Transportation & Logistics and Retail sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.71% to hit a new all time high, while the MDAX index lost 0.17%, and the TecDAX index declined 0.05%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Deutsche Telekom AG Na (DE:DTEGn), which rose 5.01% or 0.772 points to trade at 16.170 at the close. Meanwhile, Adidas AG (DE:ADSGN) added 2.65% or 7.50 points to end at 290.30 and Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (DE:FMEG) was up 2.50% or 1.480 points to 60.760 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn), which fell 3.94% or 1.345 points to trade at 32.780 at the close. Continental AG O.N. (DE:CONG) declined 3.20% or 3.83 points to end at 115.80 and Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER) was down 3.03% or 3.25 points to 103.85.
The top performers on the MDAX were Brenntag AG (DE:BNRGn) which rose 4.57% to 70.500, Siemens Healthineers AG (DE:SHLG) which was up 3.10% to settle at 45.99 and Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (DE:O2Dn) which gained 3.01% to close at 2.396.
The worst performers were K&S AG (DE:SDFGn) which was down 9.39% to 9.054 in late trade, Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:CBKG) which lost 2.83% to settle at 5.529 and Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:LHAG) which was down 2.72% to 12.082 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Deutsche Telekom AG Na (DE:DTEGn) which rose 5.01% to 16.170, Siemens Healthineers AG (DE:SHLG) which was up 3.10% to settle at 45.99 and Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (DE:O2Dn) which gained 3.01% to close at 2.396.
The worst performers were LPKF Laser & Electronics (DE:LPKG) which was down 4.09% to 24.600 in late trade, Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) which lost 3.94% to settle at 32.780 and Jenoptik AG (DE:JENGn) which was down 2.58% to 26.440 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 384 to 310 and 60 ended unchanged.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 2.49% to 20.72 a new 52-week low.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.37% or 6.40 to $1723.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 0.83% or 0.53 to hit $64.54 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.76% or 0.51 to trade at $68.03 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.18% to 1.1920, while EUR/GBP fell 0.01% to 0.8561.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 91.852.
