Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Friday, as gains in the Chemicals, Food & Beverages and Consumer & Cyclical sectors led shares higher while losses in the Construction, Technology and Retail sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.56%, while the MDAX index declined 0.04%, and the TecDAX index declined 0.09%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were BASF SE NA O.N. (ETR:BASFN), which rose 2.50% or 1.13 points to trade at 46.25 at the close. Meanwhile, Brenntag AG (ETR:BNRGn) added 2.10% or 1.58 points to end at 76.90 and Dr Ing hc F Porsche AG Preferred (ETR:P911_p) was up 1.87% or 1.82 points to 99.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn), which fell 2.00% or 0.48 points to trade at 23.52 at the close. Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) declined 1.22% or 0.40 points to end at 32.35 and Qiagen NV (ETR:QIA) was down 0.77% or 0.30 points to 38.84.
The top performers on the MDAX were Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which rose 2.26% to 30.82, Lanxess AG (ETR:LXSG) which was up 2.23% to settle at 27.04 and Wacker Chemie O.N. (ETR:WCHG) which gained 2.19% to close at 139.80.
The worst performers were SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which was down 3.13% to 66.55 in late trade, LEG Immobilien AG (ETR:LEGn) which lost 3.04% to settle at 71.40 and Tag Immobilien AG (ETR:TEGG) which was down 2.98% to 11.22 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:MORG) which rose 3.78% to 30.78, Eckert & Ziegler AG O.N. (ETR:EUZG) which was up 2.97% to settle at 31.24 and Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which gained 2.26% to close at 30.82.
The worst performers were Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:VBKG) which was down 3.27% to 42.61 in late trade, SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which lost 3.13% to settle at 66.55 and Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which was down 1.87% to 81.88 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 340 to 310 and 92 ended unchanged.
Shares in Brenntag AG (ETR:BNRGn) rose to 52-week highs; up 2.10% or 1.58 to 76.90. Shares in Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) fell to 3-years lows; down 1.87% or 1.56 to 81.88.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 1.38% to 13.61 a new 1-month low.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.73% or 14.05 to $1,946.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.53% or 0.48 to hit $90.64 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.05% or 0.05 to trade at $93.75 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.30% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.37% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16% at 104.88.
