Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Monday, as gains in the Technology, Industrials and Insurance sectors led shares higher while losses in the Retail, Financial Services and Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.55%, while the MDAX index added 0.79%, and the TecDAX index declined 0.09%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Covestro AG (DE:1COV), which rose 5.62% or 2.470 points to trade at 46.410 at the close. Meanwhile, MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:MTXGn) added 4.78% or 9.25 points to end at 202.70 and Continental AG O.N. (DE:CONG) was up 2.98% or 3.19 points to 110.12 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Deutsche Wohnen AG (DE:DWNG), which fell 3.55% or 1.510 points to trade at 40.980 at the close. Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER) declined 2.69% or 2.66 points to end at 96.34 and Vonovia SE (DE:VNAn) was down 2.65% or 1.52 points to 55.84.
The top performers on the MDAX were Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (DE:AT1) which rose 7.27% to 5.576, K+S AG NA O.N. (DE:SDFGn) which was up 6.81% to settle at 6.684 and Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:LHAG) which gained 6.23% to close at 9.773.
The worst performers were HelloFresh SE (DE:HFGG) which was down 5.25% to 41.50 in late trade, Varta AG (DE:VAR1) which lost 5.24% to settle at 108.500 and TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which was down 3.73% to 37.98 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which rose 5.30% to 17.470, Jenoptik AG (DE:JENGn) which was up 5.09% to settle at 25.580 and Cancom SE O.N. (DE:COKG) which gained 4.68% to close at 46.060.
The worst performers were Varta AG (DE:VAR1) which was down 5.24% to 108.500 in late trade, TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which lost 3.73% to settle at 37.98 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) which was down 2.28% to 368.800 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 492 to 196 and 26 ended unchanged.
Shares in Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) rose to 3-years highs; rising 5.30% or 0.880 to 17.470.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 2.67% to 24.45 a new 1-month low.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.18% or 3.45 to $1889.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 3.41% or 1.37 to hit $41.50 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 3.23% or 1.38 to trade at $44.16 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.07% to 1.1840, while EUR/GBP rose 0.03% to 0.8973.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.15% at 92.612.
