Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Media, Insurance and Chemicals sectors led shares higher while losses in the Technology, Software and Basic Resources sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.47%, while the MDAX index gained 0.60%, and the TecDAX index declined 0.38%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Covestro AG (DE:1COV), which rose 1.87% or 1.020 points to trade at 55.480 at the close. Meanwhile, Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER) added 1.80% or 2.00 points to end at 113.40 and Siemens Energy AG (DE:ENR1n) was up 1.77% or 0.45 points to 25.87 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn), which fell 1.99% or 0.672 points to trade at 33.163 at the close. SAP SE (DE:SAPG) declined 0.47% or 0.560 points to end at 118.280 and Deutsche Boerse AG (DE:DB1Gn) was down 0.34% or 0.500 points to 146.450.
The top performers on the MDAX were K&S AG (DE:SDFGn) which rose 4.67% to 12.018, CTS Eventim AG (DE:EVDG) which was up 3.91% to settle at 54.760 and Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:LHAG) which gained 3.02% to close at 9.777.
The worst performers were Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which was down 12.65% to 17.890 in late trade, Aixtron SE (DE:AIXGn) which lost 3.28% to settle at 22.110 and Knorr-Bremse AG (DE:KBX) which was down 3.13% to 93.96 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were S&T AG (DE:SANT1) which rose 2.49% to 19.78, Varta AG (DE:VAR1) which was up 1.92% to settle at 132.500 and Eckert & Ziegler AG O.N. (DE:EUZG) which gained 1.30% to close at 97.600.
The worst performers were Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which was down 12.65% to 17.890 in late trade, LPKF Laser & Electronics (DE:LPKG) which lost 6.51% to settle at 22.960 and Aixtron SE (DE:AIXGn) which was down 3.28% to 22.110 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 441 to 246 and 68 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 2.55% to 17.95.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.03% or 0.45 to $1771.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.93% or 1.42 to hit $74.89 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.33% or 0.99 to trade at $75.61 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.02% to 1.1858, while EUR/GBP rose 0.45% to 0.8609.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 92.468.
