Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Technology, Food & Beverages and Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare sectors led shares higher while losses in the Retail, Construction and Media sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.46% to hit a new 3-months high, while the MDAX index fell 0.47%, and the TecDAX index climbed 0.32%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Bayer AG NA (ETR:BAYGN), which rose 4.09% or 2.10 points to trade at 53.42 at the close. Meanwhile, Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) added 2.79% or 0.88 points to end at 32.38 and Puma SE (ETR:PUMG) was up 2.22% or 1.14 points to 52.52 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p), which fell 3.64% or 15.10 points to trade at 400.10 at the close. Continental AG O.N. (ETR:CONG) declined 1.94% or 1.20 points to end at 60.56 and BASF SE NA O.N. (ETR:BASFN) was down 1.91% or 0.98 points to 50.30.
The top performers on the MDAX were ADTRAN Holdingsa Inc (ETR:QH9) which rose 7.01% to 20.60, Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (ETR:BOSSn) which was up 3.12% to settle at 50.94 and Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG) which gained 2.81% to close at 8.04.
The worst performers were HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which was down 5.81% to 26.61 in late trade, Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which lost 4.47% to settle at 18.16 and Stroeer SE (ETR:SAXG) which was down 3.85% to 47.44 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which rose 10.19% to 11.46, Nagarro SE (ETR:NA9n) which was up 7.21% to settle at 116.00 and ADTRAN Holdingsa Inc (ETR:QH9) which gained 7.01% to close at 20.60.
The worst performers were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was down 4.47% to 18.16 in late trade, Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:VBKG) which lost 3.86% to settle at 82.10 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which was down 3.64% to 400.10 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 353 to 327 and 80 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 1.20% to 21.93.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.19% or 3.35 to $1,773.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 1.35% or 1.16 to hit $87.03 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 1.10% or 1.02 to trade at $94.16 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.53% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.52% to 0.87.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.29% at 106.23.
