Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Utilities, Insurance and Food & Beverages sectors led shares higher while losses in the Construction, Retail and Software sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.35%, while the MDAX index lost 0.13%, and the TecDAX index declined 0.26%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (ETR:MTXGn), which rose 3.51% or 6.05 points to trade at 178.45 at the close. Meanwhile, Porsche Automobil Holding SE (ETR:PSHG_p) added 2.69% or 1.78 points to end at 67.88 and Continental AG O.N. (ETR:CONG) was up 2.52% or 1.72 points to 70.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Puma SE (ETR:PUMG), which fell 2.21% or 1.46 points to trade at 64.48 at the close. Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG) declined 1.94% or 0.50 points to end at 25.22 and Symrise AG Inh. O.N. (ETR:SY1G) was down 1.22% or 1.30 points to 104.95.
The top performers on the MDAX were K&S AG (ETR:SDFGn) which rose 4.59% to 24.13, Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) which was up 3.45% to settle at 222.20 and Duerr AG (ETR:DUEG) which gained 2.18% to close at 23.48.
The worst performers were Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which was down 7.02% to 36.00 in late trade, TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which lost 3.73% to settle at 10.21 and Scout24 AG (ETR:G24n) which was down 2.92% to 50.46 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which rose 2.86% to 23.40, Kontron AG (ETR:KTN) which was up 2.45% to settle at 14.61 and Freenet AG NA (ETR:FNTGn) which gained 1.80% to close at 24.37.
The worst performers were TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which was down 3.73% to 10.21 in late trade, CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (ETR:COP1n) which lost 1.96% to settle at 42.00 and Nagarro SE (ETR:NA9n) which was down 1.56% to 113.40 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 360 to 313 and 93 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 2.03% to 26.07.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.07% or 1.35 to $1,823.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.73% or 1.90 to hit $111.47 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 2.25% or 2.50 to trade at $113.48 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.59% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.08% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.56% at 104.26.
