Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms, Retail and Financial Services sectors led shares higher while losses in the Utilities, Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare and Media sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.35%, while the MDAX index lost 0.05%, and the TecDAX index climbed 0.30%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Deutsche Wohnen AG (DE:DWNG), which rose 3.06% or 1.280 points to trade at 43.130 at the close. Meanwhile, Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER) added 3.11% or 3.03 points to end at 100.35 and Deutsche Telekom AG Na (DE:DTEGn) was up 2.79% or 0.358 points to 13.168 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:MTXGn), which fell 4.05% or 6.10 points to trade at 144.70 at the close. Beiersdorf AG O.N. (DE:BEIG) declined 3.06% or 2.870 points to end at 90.840 and Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (DE:FMEG) was down 2.86% or 1.950 points to 66.320.
The top performers on the MDAX were Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:NEKG) which rose 12.90% to 64.750, Grenke N AG (DE:GLJn) which was up 7.87% to settle at 33.70 and Wacker Chemie O.N. (DE:WCHG) which gained 4.49% to close at 85.43.
The worst performers were Aixtron SE (DE:AIXGn) which was down 13.89% to 9.425 in late trade, Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which lost 5.34% to settle at 77.620 and Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (DE:BOSSn) which was down 3.77% to 19.920 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:NEKG) which rose 12.90% to 64.750, Bechtle AG (DE:BC8G) which was up 3.81% to settle at 149.800 and CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (DE:COP1n) which gained 3.08% to close at 75.250.
The worst performers were Aixtron SE (DE:AIXGn) which was down 13.89% to 9.425 in late trade, Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which lost 5.34% to settle at 77.620 and Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (DE:O2Dn) which was down 3.46% to 2.174 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 373 to 286 and 31 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 2.02% to 39.73.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.35% or 6.65 to $1872.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 3.77% or 1.41 to hit $35.98 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 3.73% or 1.48 to trade at $38.16 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.69% to 1.1663, while EUR/GBP fell 0.04% to 0.9038.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.68% at 94.047.
