Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Basic Resources, Construction and Utilities sectors led shares higher while losses in the Software, Food & Beverages and Consumer & Cyclical sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.35% to hit a new 1-month high, while the MDAX index fell 0.46%, and the TecDAX index fell 1.41%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Continental AG O.N. (DE:CONG), which rose 3.54% or 4.30 points to trade at 125.94 at the close. Meanwhile, Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (DE:TKAG) added 3.36% or 0.415 points to end at 12.765 and Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:LHAG) was up 3.16% or 0.445 points to 14.535 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG), which fell 4.49% or 7.050 points to trade at 149.850 at the close. Adidas AG (DE:ADSGN) declined 2.60% or 7.20 points to end at 269.85 and Merck KGaA (DE:MRCG) was down 2.17% or 2.08 points to 93.76.
The top performers on the MDAX were Fuchs Petrolub AG VZO Pref (DE:FPEG_p) which rose 4.19% to 35.320, GEA Group AG (DE:G1AG) which was up 3.99% to settle at 26.300 and Knorr-Bremse AG (DE:KBX) which gained 3.85% to close at 89.80.
The worst performers were Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (DE:AFXG) which was down 4.92% to 100.500 in late trade, MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:MTXGn) which lost 4.63% to settle at 236.70 and Airbus Group SE (DE:AIRG) which was down 3.46% to 122.38 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which rose 3.80% to 69.880, Medigene NA O.N. (DE:MDG1k) which was up 2.51% to settle at 6.740 and Drillisch AG (DE:DRIG) which gained 1.73% to close at 30.640.
The worst performers were Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (DE:AFXG) which was down 4.92% to 100.500 in late trade, CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (DE:COPMa) which lost 4.79% to settle at 50.650 and Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG) which was down 4.49% to 149.850 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 377 to 304 and 74 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 1.71% to 15.43.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.77% or 11.65 to $1499.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.22% or 0.13 to hit $57.72 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.08% or 0.05 to trade at $62.64 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.08% to 1.1037, while EUR/GBP fell 0.04% to 0.8942.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 98.373.
