Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Monday, as gains in the Retail, Media and Utilities sectors led shares higher while losses in the Telecoms, Chemicals and Software sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.34% to hit a new all time high, while the MDAX index added 0.68%, and the TecDAX index fell 0.13%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Zalando SE (DE:ZALG), which rose 4.81% or 3.71 points to trade at 80.81 at the close. Meanwhile, RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:RWEG) added 3.14% or 1.010 points to end at 33.180 and HelloFresh SE (DE:HFGG) was up 2.70% or 2.30 points to 87.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Deutsche Telekom AG Na (DE:DTEGn), which fell 1.64% or 0.280 points to trade at 16.755 at the close. MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:MTXGn) declined 1.03% or 2.05 points to end at 196.38 and Bayer AG NA (DE:BAYGN) was down 1.00% or 0.51 points to 50.42.
The top performers on the MDAX were AUTO1 Group SE (DE:AG1G) which rose 5.70% to 33.40, Hella KGaA Hueck & Co (DE:HLE) which was up 3.28% to settle at 62.32 and Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (DE:TKAG) which gained 3.20% to close at 9.236.
The worst performers were Lanxess AG (DE:LXSG) which was down 2.10% to 56.830 in late trade, Cancom SE O.N. (DE:COKG) which lost 2.03% to settle at 60.720 and Varta AG (DE:VAR1) which was down 1.70% to 112.550 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Aixtron SE (DE:AIXGn) which rose 2.00% to 21.705, Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:NEKG) which was up 1.87% to settle at 111.400 and United Internet AG NA (DE:UTDI) which gained 1.34% to close at 35.470.
The worst performers were SMA Solar Technology AG (DE:S92G) which was down 4.25% to 47.800 in late trade, Cancom SE O.N. (DE:COKG) which lost 2.03% to settle at 60.720 and Varta AG (DE:VAR1) which was down 1.70% to 112.550 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 435 to 282 and 60 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 1.10% to 15.66.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.13% or 2.35 to $1866.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.15% or 0.92 to hit $78.77 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 1.25% or 1.03 to trade at $81.14 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.34% to 1.1411, while EUR/GBP fell 0.47% to 0.8493.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.14% at 95.257.
