Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Monday, as gains in the Construction, Technology and Basic Resources sectors led shares higher while losses in the Financial Services, Utilities and Food & Beverages sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.28% to hit a new 1-month high, while the MDAX index declined 0.02%, and the TecDAX index added 0.07%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (DE:HEIG), which rose 3.66% or 2.360 points to trade at 66.820 at the close. Meanwhile, Continental AG O.N. (DE:CONG) added 3.56% or 4.18 points to end at 121.64 and Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn) was up 3.01% or 0.214 points to 7.328 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Vonovia SE (DE:VNAn), which fell 2.54% or 1.10 points to trade at 42.20 at the close. Beiersdorf AG O.N. (DE:BEIG) declined 2.28% or 2.600 points to end at 111.400 and Merck KGaA (DE:MRCG) was down 2.20% or 2.16 points to 95.84.
The top performers on the MDAX were Leoni AG (DE:LEOGn) which rose 6.76% to 12.950, Norma Group AG NA O.N. (DE:NOEJ) which was up 5.55% to settle at 30.060 and Drillisch AG (DE:DRIG) which gained 5.46% to close at 30.120.
The worst performers were Puma SE (DE:PUMG) which was down 3.23% to 67.35 in late trade, Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (DE:AFXG) which lost 2.76% to settle at 105.700 and Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:NEKG) which was down 2.30% to 45.820 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were SMA Solar Technology AG (DE:S92G) which rose 7.47% to 22.440, Drillisch AG (DE:DRIG) which was up 5.46% to settle at 30.120 and Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which gained 4.62% to close at 9.520.
The worst performers were SLM Solutions Group AG (DE:AM3D) which was down 5.56% to 13.94 in late trade, Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (DE:AFXG) which lost 2.76% to settle at 105.700 and Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:NEKG) which was down 2.30% to 45.820 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 406 to 276 and 73 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 1.74% to 15.17.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.26% or 3.95 to $1511.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 2.65% or 1.50 to hit $58.02 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 2.23% or 1.37 to trade at $62.91 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.26% to 1.1056, while EUR/GBP fell 0.10% to 0.8952.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16% at 98.203.
