Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Insurance, Chemicals and Software sectors led shares higher while losses in the Retail, Technology and Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.19%, while the MDAX index declined 0.43%, and the TecDAX index fell 0.38%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Daimler AG NA O.N. (DE:DAIGn), which rose 2.40% or 1.600 points to trade at 68.200 at the close. Meanwhile, Allianz SE VNA O.N. (DE:ALVG) added 2.19% or 4.43 points to end at 206.65 and Muench. Rueckvers. VNA O.N. (DE:MUVGn) was up 2.04% or 5.00 points to 250.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:RWEG), which fell 2.79% or 0.880 points to trade at 30.655 at the close. Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER) declined 2.26% or 2.45 points to end at 105.95 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) was down 1.32% or 0.470 points to 35.225.
The top performers on the MDAX were Kion Group AG (DE:KGX) which rose 6.46% to 76.82, TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which was up 4.19% to settle at 46.70 and Hannover Rueck SE (DE:HNRGn) which gained 2.01% to close at 147.30.
The worst performers were HelloFresh SE (DE:HFGG) which was down 6.51% to 62.50 in late trade, Software AG (DE:SOWGn) which lost 3.05% to settle at 36.280 and Siemens Energy AG (DE:ENR1n) which was down 2.94% to 30.66 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which rose 4.19% to 46.70, Jenoptik AG (DE:JENGn) which was up 2.17% to settle at 27.280 and Freenet AG NA (DE:FNTGn) which gained 1.43% to close at 18.555.
The worst performers were Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which was down 5.36% to 21.880 in late trade, S&T AG (DE:SANT1) which lost 3.36% to settle at 22.42 and Software AG (DE:SOWGn) which was down 3.05% to 36.280 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 385 to 304 and 67 ended unchanged.
Shares in Daimler AG NA O.N. (DE:DAIGn) rose to 52-week highs; rising 2.40% or 1.600 to 68.200.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 1.93% to 22.85.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.57% or 9.80 to $1732.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 0.30% or 0.18 to hit $60.82 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.11% or 0.07 to trade at $63.76 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.32% to 1.2085, while EUR/GBP fell 0.01% to 0.8649.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.29% at 90.773.
