Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare, Consumer & Cyclical and Retail sectors led shares higher while losses in the Technology, Industrials and Financial Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.18%, while the MDAX index declined 0.27%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.08%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Bayer AG NA (DE:BAYGN), which rose 3.00% or 1.66 points to trade at 57.01 at the close. Meanwhile, Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (DE:HEIG) added 1.67% or 0.910 points to end at 55.490 and Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (DE:FREG) was up 1.54% or 0.590 points to 39.025 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn), which fell 2.39% or 0.189 points to trade at 7.712 at the close. MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:MTXGn) declined 1.42% or 2.25 points to end at 156.70 and Continental AG O.N. (DE:CONG) was down 1.07% or 1.02 points to 94.56.
The top performers on the MDAX were Rheinmetall AG (DE:RHMG) which rose 2.63% to 81.900, Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (DE:BOSSn) which was up 2.29% to settle at 24.110 and K+S AG NA O.N. (DE:SDFGn) which gained 1.91% to close at 5.864.
The worst performers were Grenke N AG (DE:GLJn) which was down 18.84% to 44.64 in late trade, Metro Wholesale & Food Specialist AG (DE:B4B) which lost 2.90% to settle at 8.7000 and Airbus Group SE (DE:AIRG) which was down 2.58% to 69.40 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which rose 2.83% to 11.640, Draegerwerk VZO O.N. (DE:DRWG_p) which was up 2.06% to settle at 69.200 and Aixtron SE (DE:AIXGn) which gained 1.83% to close at 9.704.
The worst performers were Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:NEKG) which was down 1.02% to 62.800 in late trade, Software AG (DE:SOWGn) which lost 0.91% to settle at 43.480 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) which was down 0.89% to 24.405 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 364 to 303 and 80 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 1.79% to 23.63.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.17% or 3.30 to $1967.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 3.27% or 1.22 to hit $38.48 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 2.85% or 1.13 to trade at $40.74 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.13% to 1.1853, while EUR/GBP fell 0.54% to 0.9187.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 93.067.
