Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Food & Beverages, Financial Services and Media sectors led shares higher while losses in the Construction, Technology and Basic Resources sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.14%, while the MDAX index fell 0.09%, and the TecDAX index fell 0.04%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Merck KGaA (ETR:MRCG), which rose 2.30% or 3.85 points to trade at 171.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Henkel & Co KGaA AG Pref (ETR:HNKG_p) added 1.91% or 1.38 points to end at 73.74 and E.ON SE (ETR:EONGn) was up 1.58% or 0.18 points to 11.57 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (ETR:DBKGn), which fell 1.45% or 0.14 points to trade at 9.33 at the close. RWE AG ST O.N. (ETR:RWEG) declined 1.38% or 0.55 points to end at 39.18 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) was down 1.02% or 0.38 points to 36.49.
The top performers on the MDAX were Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which rose 2.44% to 64.60, HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which was up 2.36% to settle at 22.15 and Scout24 AG (ETR:G24n) which gained 2.08% to close at 54.92.
The worst performers were Befesa SA (ETR:BFSA) which was down 3.77% to 40.30 in late trade, Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:AT1) which lost 3.30% to settle at 1.26 and Wacker Chemie O.N. (ETR:WCHG) which was down 2.20% to 146.70 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which rose 2.44% to 64.60, Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was up 2.05% to settle at 19.92 and Suse SA (ETR:SUSEG) which gained 1.44% to close at 16.86.
The worst performers were Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:VBKG) which was down 2.07% to 40.30 in late trade, ADTRAN Holdingsa Inc (ETR:QH9) which lost 2.05% to settle at 13.87 and United Internet AG NA (ETR:UTDI) which was down 1.67% to 15.33 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 363 to 309 and 78 ended unchanged.
Shares in Henkel & Co KGaA AG Pref (ETR:HNKG_p) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 1.91% or 1.38 to 73.74. Shares in E.ON SE (ETR:EONGn) rose to 52-week highs; up 1.58% or 0.18 to 11.57. Shares in Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:AT1) fell to all time lows; down 3.30% or 0.04 to 1.26. Shares in Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:VBKG) fell to 52-week lows; down 2.07% or 0.85 to 40.30. Shares in ADTRAN Holdingsa Inc (ETR:QH9) fell to all time lows; down 2.05% or 0.29 to 13.87. Shares in United Internet AG NA (ETR:UTDI) fell to 5-year lows; losing 1.67% or 0.26 to 15.33.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 1.00% to 18.78.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.88% or 37.70 to $2,038.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.09% or 0.07 to hit $80.35 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 0.40% or 0.34 to trade at $84.59 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.47% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.17% to 0.88.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.46% at 101.32.
