Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Food & Beverages, Financial Services and Utilities sectors led shares higher while losses in the Basic Resources, Transportation & Logistics and Retail sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.14%, while the MDAX index declined 0.04%, and the TecDAX index added 0.54%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG), which rose 3.60% or 5.500 points to trade at 158.300 at the close. Meanwhile, Covestro AG (DE:1COV) added 2.39% or 1.050 points to end at 45.030 and RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:RWEG) was up 1.94% or 0.510 points to 26.860 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn), which fell 1.31% or 0.096 points to trade at 7.215 at the close. Deutsche Post AG NA O.N. (DE:DPWGn) declined 1.20% or 0.370 points to end at 30.350 and Bayer AG NA (DE:BAYGN) was down 0.97% or 0.65 points to 66.20.
The top performers on the MDAX were Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (DE:AT1) which rose 2.64% to 7.080, Dialog Semiconductor (DE:DLGS) which was up 1.84% to settle at 43.770 and Hochtief AG (DE:HOTG) which gained 1.73% to close at 106.00.
The worst performers were Jungheinrich AG O.N.VZO (DE:JUNG_p) which was down 2.32% to 21.880 in late trade, Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:CBKG) which lost 2.16% to settle at 5.530 and Rocket Internet (DE:RKET) which was down 2.01% to 24.40 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG) which rose 3.60% to 158.300, CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (DE:COPMa) which was up 3.57% to settle at 52.150 and Dialog Semiconductor (DE:DLGS) which gained 1.84% to close at 43.7700.
The worst performers were Medigene NA O.N. (DE:MDG1k) which was down 1.91% to 6.670 in late trade, Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:NEKG) which lost 1.73% to settle at 46.600 and Jenoptik AG (DE:JENGn) which was down 1.04% to 23.750 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 349 to 318 and 89 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 2.31% to 15.68.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.07% or 1.10 to $1514.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 2.27% or 1.34 to hit $57.76 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 2.15% or 1.39 to trade at $63.16 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.06% to 1.1064, while EUR/GBP rose 0.05% to 0.8859.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 97.887.
