Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Friday, as gains in the Technology, Media and Telecoms sectors led shares higher while losses in the Retail, Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare and Transportation & Logistics sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.13% to hit a new all time high, while the MDAX index lost 0.21%, and the TecDAX index lost 1.33%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:MTXGn), which rose 6.49% or 12.40 points to trade at 203.35 at the close. Meanwhile, Airbus Group SE (DE:AIRG) added 4.65% or 5.06 points to end at 113.94 and Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (DE:FMEG) was up 3.92% or 2.320 points to 61.560 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p), which fell 7.90% or 46.600 points to trade at 543.400 at the close. Merck KGaA (DE:MRCG) declined 6.68% or 14.50 points to end at 202.65 and HelloFresh SE (DE:HFGG) was down 5.21% or 4.60 points to 83.74.
The top performers on the MDAX were Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:LHAG) which rose 6.31% to 6.942, Prosiebensat 1 Media AG (DE:PSMGn) which was up 5.86% to settle at 14.9950 and United Internet AG NA (DE:UTDI) which gained 5.08% to close at 34.140.
The worst performers were Varta AG (DE:VAR1) which was down 14.97% to 110.500 in late trade, Gerresheimer AG (DE:GXIG) which lost 4.21% to settle at 79.700 and Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (DE:AFXG) which was down 4.10% to 177.950 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were United Internet AG NA (DE:UTDI) which rose 5.08% to 34.140, Suse SA (DE:SUSEG) which was up 3.26% to settle at 39.24 and Freenet AG NA (DE:FNTGn) which gained 3.12% to close at 22.165.
The worst performers were Varta AG (DE:VAR1) which was down 14.97% to 110.500 in late trade, Eckert & Ziegler AG O.N. (DE:EUZG) which lost 10.05% to settle at 121.700 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) which was down 7.90% to 543.400 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 354 to 317 and 36 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 1.15% to 15.80.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.04% or 18.60 to $1812.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 2.96% or 2.33 to hit $81.14 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 2.56% or 2.06 to trade at $82.60 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.02% to 1.1550, while EUR/GBP rose 0.15% to 0.8569.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 94.325.
