Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Friday, as gains in the Retail, Technology and Food & Beverages sectors led shares higher while losses in the Construction, Utilities and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.11%, while the MDAX index gained 0.99%, and the TecDAX index fell 0.01%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (ETR:FMEG), which rose 3.87% or 1.29 points to trade at 34.59 at the close. Meanwhile, Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (ETR:HEIG) added 2.70% or 1.62 points to end at 61.72 and Continental AG O.N. (ETR:CONG) was up 2.54% or 1.64 points to 66.24 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p), which fell 3.48% or 15.10 points to trade at 418.80 at the close. Airbus Group SE (ETR:AIRG) declined 3.36% or 4.06 points to end at 116.66 and RWE AG ST O.N. (ETR:RWEG) was down 1.67% or 0.70 points to 41.16.
The top performers on the MDAX were Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which rose 4.41% to 54.92, Aurubis AG (ETR:NAFG) which was up 3.28% to settle at 98.38 and Tag Immobilien AG (ETR:TEGG) which gained 2.71% to close at 8.15.
The worst performers were Befesa SA (ETR:BFSA) which was down 3.36% to 53.15 in late trade, Talanx AG NA O.N. (ETR:TLXGn) which lost 0.74% to settle at 45.48 and Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was down 0.56% to 18.81 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Varta AG (ETR:VAR1) which rose 5.97% to 28.56, Nagarro SE (ETR:NA9n) which was up 3.28% to settle at 132.40 and Vantage Towers AG (ETR:VTWRn) which gained 1.80% to close at 32.80.
The worst performers were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which was down 3.48% to 418.80 in late trade, Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which lost 3.03% to settle at 13.77 and Cancom SE O.N. (ETR:COKG) which was down 2.29% to 31.62 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 427 to 239 and 92 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 3.69% to 17.24 a new 52-week low.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.03% or 0.55 to $1,929.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 1.53% or 1.24 to hit $79.77 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.97% or 0.85 to trade at $86.62 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.25% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.10% to 0.88.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 101.76.
