Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Monday, as gains in the Transportation & Logistics, Industrials and Consumer & Cyclical sectors led shares higher while losses in the Retail, Technology and Software sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.10%, while the MDAX index climbed 0.12%, and the TecDAX index fell 0.95%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:MTXGn), which rose 4.46% or 6.60 points to trade at 154.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn) added 3.61% or 0.279 points to end at 8.010 and Continental AG O.N. (DE:CONG) was up 2.62% or 2.12 points to 83.04 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG), which fell 4.51% or 0.081 points to trade at 1.719 at the close. Deutsche Boerse AG (DE:DB1Gn) declined 2.06% or 3.220 points to end at 152.730 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) was down 1.76% or 0.385 points to 21.535.
The top performers on the MDAX were Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:LHAG) which rose 6.39% to 8.486, Varta AG (DE:VAR1) which was up 6.18% to settle at 116.800 and Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (DE:TKAG) which gained 5.66% to close at 7.430.
The worst performers were Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:MORG) which was down 6.03% to 106.025 in late trade, HelloFresh SE (DE:HFGG) which lost 5.32% to settle at 46.30 and CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (DE:COP1n) which was down 4.30% to 72.300 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Varta AG (DE:VAR1) which rose 6.18% to 116.800, Jenoptik AG (DE:JENGn) which was up 3.16% to settle at 24.160 and Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which gained 2.48% to close at 11.140.
The worst performers were Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:MORG) which was down 6.03% to 106.025 in late trade, New Work SE (DE:NWOn) which lost 4.86% to settle at 284.00 and Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG) which was down 4.51% to 1.719 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 400 to 262 and 83 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 25.57.
Gold Futures for October delivery was up 0.66% or 13.30 to $2031.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 2.23% or 0.92 to hit $42.14 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.62% or 0.72 to trade at $45.12 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.28% to 1.1753, while EUR/GBP fell 0.65% to 0.8982.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.08% at 93.483.
