Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Food & Beverages, Chemicals and Industrials sectors led shares higher while losses in the Technology, Construction and Financial Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.09%, while the MDAX index declined 0.57%, and the TecDAX index fell 1.13%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (ETR:HEIG), which rose 2.04% or 1.30 points to trade at 65.06 at the close. Meanwhile, Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) added 1.89% or 0.36 points to end at 19.36 and Continental AG O.N. (ETR:CONG) was up 1.70% or 1.10 points to 65.86 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn), which fell 6.03% or 1.01 points to trade at 15.65 at the close. Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) declined 3.13% or 1.09 points to end at 33.56 and Qiagen NV (ETR:QIA) was down 1.58% or 0.68 points to 42.25.
The top performers on the MDAX were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which rose 5.35% to 18.72, Kion Group AG (ETR:KGX) which was up 2.81% to settle at 34.08 and Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (ETR:BOSSn) which gained 2.64% to close at 62.20.
The worst performers were Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:AT1) which was down 10.22% to 1.36 in late trade, LEG Immobilien AG (ETR:LEGn) which lost 6.50% to settle at 47.65 and United Internet AG NA (ETR:UTDI) which was down 5.67% to 16.22 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which rose 5.35% to 18.72, SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which was up 2.12% to settle at 77.15 and Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:MORG) which gained 0.99% to close at 14.78.
The worst performers were Eckert & Ziegler AG O.N. (ETR:EUZG) which was down 7.88% to 50.30 in late trade, United Internet AG NA (ETR:UTDI) which lost 5.67% to settle at 16.22 and Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which was down 5.57% to 127.05 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 372 to 301 and 79 ended unchanged.
Shares in Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn) fell to all time lows; down 6.03% or 1.01 to 15.65. Shares in Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:AT1) fell to all time lows; falling 10.22% or 0.15 to 1.36. Shares in LEG Immobilien AG (ETR:LEGn) fell to 5-year lows; falling 6.50% or 3.31 to 47.65. Shares in United Internet AG NA (ETR:UTDI) fell to 5-year lows; down 5.67% or 0.98 to 16.22. Shares in United Internet AG NA (ETR:UTDI) fell to 5-year lows; down 5.67% or 0.98 to 16.22.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 4.64% to 21.19.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.85% or 16.75 to $1,988.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 1.25% or 0.91 to hit $73.72 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.99% or 0.77 to trade at $78.53 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.40% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.88.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.39% at 102.12.
