Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Utilities, Telecoms and Financial Services sectors led shares higher while losses in the Technology, Transportation & Logistics and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.03%, while the MDAX index declined 0.31%, and the TecDAX index climbed 0.27%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Deutsche Wohnen AG (DE:DWNG), which rose 2.96% or 1.190 points to trade at 41.360 at the close. Meanwhile, E.ON SE (DE:EONGn) added 2.92% or 0.258 points to end at 9.084 and RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:RWEG) was up 2.51% or 0.800 points to 32.715 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (DE:VOWG_p), which fell 3.98% or 9.43 points to trade at 227.50 at the close. Continental AG O.N. (DE:CONG) declined 2.08% or 2.40 points to end at 113.25 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) was down 2.06% or 0.725 points to 34.410.
The top performers on the MDAX were Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:NEKG) which rose 3.93% to 56.800, Zalando SE (DE:ZALG) which was up 2.49% to settle at 89.00 and Tag Immobilien AG (DE:TEGG) which gained 2.10% to close at 25.240.
The worst performers were Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:LHAG) which was down 3.80% to 10.745 in late trade, Hella KGaA Hueck & Co (DE:HLE) which lost 3.47% to settle at 47.36 and Kion Group AG (DE:KGX) which was down 2.94% to 75.84 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which rose 7.27% to 24.500, Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:NEKG) which was up 3.93% to settle at 56.800 and CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (DE:COP1n) which gained 2.05% to close at 72.050.
The worst performers were LPKF Laser & Electronics (DE:LPKG) which was down 3.95% to 25.500 in late trade, Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) which lost 2.06% to settle at 34.410 and Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:MORG) which was down 1.94% to 76.690 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 357 to 307 and 83 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 1.65% to 19.11.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.71% or 12.30 to $1725.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 6.79% or 4.18 to hit $57.38 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.12% or 0.07 to trade at $60.31 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.03% to 1.1852, while EUR/GBP rose 0.03% to 0.8617.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.66% at 92.350.
